So when he does it it's paying homage to other things, but when other do it to him, it's STEALING?!?! *facepalm* headdesk* *passes out*.
Mr. Penders, why do you get to play by a looser set of rules than everyone else? For those who don't know Penders is attempting a lawsuit against SEGA/EA/BioWare for "stealing" his ideas for use in Sonic Chronicles. When in fact they were actually trying to pay homage to him. So he decided to thank them by suing them. You know, I would expect a 6-year-old to pull something like this, and he's a grown man, probably over the hill.
But he has no problem "paying homage" to other ideas. But the problem is according to his "logic", he deserves to be sued by Paramount Pictures, and Lucasfilm Entertainment (and possibly Disney as well). So why can you do this when you think it is wrong for others to do so? It reminds me of other people in the Sonic fandom who complain about people parodying their parody, or recoloring their recolor. (Though I admit, maybe the Bird of Prey is a little bit of a stretch.)
If Penders steals the SSV Normandy design (made by the people he is trying to sue) in "The Lara-Su Chronicles", I'm gonna lose it.
But before you say "BUT LOUIZ, YOUR F-70 STOLE FROM TEH Su-47!" here is the difference. Yes, my F-70 design does have traits inspired from the Su-47, such as the forward swept wings (but so does the NASA X-29). However there are ALSO differences. For example, the wing sweep of the Su-47 is FIXED, the wing sweep of the F-70 is VARIABLE. Plus the Su-47 has twin tail booms, each one on the outboard sides of the engines, and one is a little longer than the other. The F-70 has only one between the engines. Also the canard fore-planes for the Su-47 are mounted on the leading edge root extension just like the Rafale by Dassault Aviation. The F-70 has it's canard fore-planes mounted near the cockpit just like the Eurofighter Typhoon by British Aerospace. Also I borrowed a few traits from the F-22 Raptor (my favorite plane) for the F-70 as well, such as the diamond shaped fuselage and the three part weapon bays.
So yes, I did use ideas from other places as well, but not blindly like Penders does. Instead I take several ideas, and carefully blend them together and make modifications while throwing technology from the 33rd century into the mix. I then carefully justify every detail in my mind almost as if the design were to actually exist. In other words, I did what SEGA/EA/Bioware did for the Penders concepts, and what Penders SHOULD have done in the comics. THAT is the difference for what I do.
And if you still consider what I do to be "stealing", well, by that logic SEGA is far worse. In Sonic Adventure 2 they blindly copied the the Su-34, the Mi-24, the Saturn V, and EVEN THE SPACE SHUTTLE! Also, because of the Archie-Sonic "reboot" (more like stripping away) due to Penders' previous stupid lawsuit, those G.U.N. fighters attacking the Egg Carrier look EXACTLY like the F-15 Eagle other than the fact the G.U.N. design has one engine when the real life design has two. LAME!
So my next few deviations will be redesigns of what Penders "borrowed" and I'll call them "What Penders SHOULD have done". Heck, if so many things are given stupid redesigns, is it too much to ask that we have a few GOOD ones? Heck, I already redesigned the "Tornado-X" from Sonic X into something that looks like it can actually fly. Man, Archie and SEGA should hire ME to do this!

But even so it wasn't just Julie Su's design, it was also the fact that she was tech-clad possible love interest echidna girl who was part of a cyber cult of echidnas who are forced to live in the nightmare ca-I MEANT ZONE lead by a white furred echidna named Doctor Finet-I MEAN IMPERATOR IX . Its a bit similar to a lot of Penders work. And I disagree about this being a proper homage, you know why? Look at the manual, you know what's not there? A section saying "Based on characters by Ken Penders and Archie Comics". That is the least they could do, but they didn't. Shame on them.
And so what if he wants compensation, in case you've forgotten he got dirt pay for his work so logically he'd be a little angry! How would you feel if you got payed dirt for a really cool design, while the corporation that owns it makes a good lot of money for it? Probably pretty bad. I bet you sided with DC when the Kirby estate asked for compensation for his work, or with Todd Macfarlane when Neil Gaiman wanted the rights to his characters.
This has been a Sonic fan defending Ken Penders, I know that sounds alien to you all as most of you are defending the idiot company that allowed that "Sonic Boom" game to exist but there it is.
s stolen form other forms of media, I was reading a line a super Sonic Special that said "be my guest be my guest be my guest" and I think to myself "Isnt that a line from beauty and the beast, was this story written by Pender's to?" (checks comic credits) "IT WAS, to that's another point to Pender's for being a fucking hypocrite" There's also several rip offs of the cartoon rugrats throughout the Knuckles the Echidna comic since that was a well known cartoon in the 90s.
Did Penders told the artist to depict several ships, in the comics, to be resembling other starships from sci-fi films? If he didn't then shouldn't Paramount Pictures or Lucasflms Enterainment be suing the artist for stealing their spaceship designs.
Just asking.
And if they did change the story so What the games and Comic are in 2 diffirent universes
I think Pender if given the chance would take claim he ownes Sonic given how he has been acting
You have to give him point with when Sega stole the group the dark brotherhood. Yeah it is not name original the group descriptions is similar. As I said before you have to give him point for that one. Artist and company rights makes things complicated. You did show he is not 100% original.
Being honest I just think this whole thing his doing is silly and pointless, it really makes him look bad in my opinion.
But I already explained this in the description.
