Why do I oppose Sally's new design? THIS is why I oppose the new design. It is the result of her innards being gutted in a sick experiment as they were being treated replaced with weapons. And she could feel the WHOLE THING happening. I thought this was "Sonic the Hedgehog" not "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Did Chris Chan ghost-write this? We've gone from Linkara territory into Cinema Snob territory.
And don't even THINK about comparing this to the whiners over Sonic 4. Those green eyes were the result of GRADUAL changes that took place on their own. I even DEFENDED Sonic's green eyes. However, I don't see how any sane person can defend THIS situation. Imagine if YOU were captured, had your body parts swapped out in place of hardware, without painkillers, and were turned against your friends and family against your will. Would YOU wear something that would remind you of this every day? Or would you go back to what things were like before as much as possible? I thought so. Besides if you can compare me to the people who lost it over Sonic 4, I can compare you to the people who kiss SEGA's ass no matter what comes out of it.
And yes, I KNOW this is a fictional story. BUT, here is the thing though. If Sally EMBRACES this new badge of slavery and torture as her look, it would make absolutely no sense for reasons I just explained. No sane and self-respecting person would accept that were it to happen to them. You KNOW this is just wrong, and on top of that it's just poor writing. And I know I'm not the only one who thought these characters were just as human as people who are actually alive.
So there. That is why I oppose the new design, not because it's new and different, but it was the result of something that I'm surprised hasn't given kids nightmares. And putting this on top of all the other time this character was given the shaft all the time, it makes me sick to my gut. I would oppose this "redesign process" even if I liked it. Just think about what would happen if Amy Rose was treated like this. The SEGA offices would receive bomb threats on a daily basis!
So when will I stop resisting this "design change?" Considering how it happened, as soon as I no longer have a pulse.
